Our Beers

Our core beers

Crankcase- Lancashire best bitter- won bronze in its class at the 2016 National Welsh homebrew competition, English & Slovenian bittering hops giving this beer a classic best bitter taste. Addition of roasted barley gives a dry sweet flavour and colour to this ale.
Ribble Red- Lancashire red ale- 5% slightly hopped with American & German hops to let the spring barley & caramel malts come through. Good dark red colour with plenty of body again slightly carbonated.
Propshaft – English pale ale- 3.8% – English hops giving the ale a refreshing grassy, earthy taste and lightly carbonated & pale golden in colour. A classic session ale.
Leyland Badger- Dry Stout – 5.8%- Our stout has a caramelised treacle toffee flavour and a dry taste with a back hint of the German & American fruity hops. Plenty of body and a good smooth mouth feel this stout has a good head when poured. This beer was named after one of Leyland Motors medium weight trucks and the fact that stout is black and white.
Sumner’s Steam- Scottish Braggot/Honey ale- 6.6%  This is a light, carbonated honey ale with English hops & does not have a thick consistency like a mead. 30% honey gives this very old ale an aftertaste of honey and smooth consistency which is a true Braggot but is hopped enough to allow just the right amount of sweetness, yet giving a dry pils taste from the malt. This is one of our best-selling ales in a bottle and one of the few Braggot’s brewed in the UK and has 6kg of honey per brew.Dryveshaft – Rye ale 5.2%- This rye ale has a distinctive dry, nutty taste yet with a spicy / peppery after taste with plenty of body & dark in colour. Not the classic English taste & is American in origin but not you’re on trend American citrus taste either. Our English & American hop varieties add an aroma, spicy yet fruity taste but we let the Rye do the talking in this beer.
Leyland Tiger Cub 5.5% English IPA- this is a pale with light carbonation English IPA. Using classic English hops gives this ale a refreshing crisp taste.
